• The lift

  The Wellington Lift uses our wheel stop mechanism. A solid stainless steel toe guard that rises around the platform to prevent wheelchair wheels from rolling off the stairlift. Please see on lift barriers for more information.

  The lift table can be made to accept any cladding material; the thicker the cladding, the deeper the pit depth.
  

  Nominal platform dimensions for this lift can vary due to site requirements. However, they are more than or equal to:

  1408 mm (l) x 1057 mm (w) 0 – 999 mm (h)

• The stairs

  The Wellington Lift can accommodate up to five stairs or a total rise of 999 mm. The width of the stairs must match the minimum width of the lift, but can be increased to the client's and/or the site's specifications.

• The upper landing barrier

  If the rise is below 500 mm, we do not need a barrier at the upper landing. It is advisable that the controls should be positioned at the upper landing so that a staff member can better protect against the void that is created when the stairs retract.

  However, if the rise is above 500 mm, the lift can have an automatic rising barrier at the upper landing to protect against the fall hazard that is created when the stairs retract.

• User type

  The Wellington Lift is for seated users only, as the wheel stop protects wheelchairs from rolling off, not standing users. Non-wheelchair users are often presented with a wheelchair to travel whilst seated on this lift.

• System requirements

  The Wellington Lift can come with a solid stainless steel skirt below the lift to reduce the pit depth. Please see concealing the underside of the lift for more information.

  If the surrounding area presents a crush zone the lift table can be fitted with safety edges to detect an obstruction. Please see the crush hazards surrounding the moving lift for more information.

• Variations to the Wellington Lift

  The lift can have an on-lift permanent button post as seen here: Mayfair Stairlift. This system also requires a significantly shallower lift pit.

  The on-lift permanent button post can be replaced with a removable hand-held post, as seen here: Kensington Stairlift in London.

  The button post can be upgraded to a rising button post that rises through the lift platform. The post then retracts completely out of sight when not in use, as seen here: Victoria Chair Lift in London.
  

  If the pit depth is an issue, the Sesame Thames Stair Lift sits within a pit depth of 160 mm + cladding thickness.

  If the horizontal pit depth is an issue,e then the Sesame Victoria Stair Lift with vertically retracting stairs may be a solution.
